Cake!

I have a wicked sweet tooth this week. Perhaps it's the sugar let downs from Easter. I suppose that's why I have been interested in cakes! Mmmm. I think venue style will help decide what type of cake we have but here are some pretty ones that I like!

Theme #4: LettersWe followed with the wedding cake. Rather than making just one outstanding cake, our cake baker created three table cakes all iced in periwinkle fondant and decorated with white sugar flowers—each sporting a unique monogram. Cake server, ...
CUTE! I love the idea of a few smaller cakes and I like the different monograms on these.
Trend: Signature SilhouettesReflect your wedding theme in a fresh way by adorning the cake with sophisticated silhouettes. Created with any color fondant, cutouts of your wedding motif, or a bloom from your bouquet could appear on your cake. The archetypa...

Kind of neat, I like the layers.
How do you keep an eyelet-inspired, all-white cake from looking

Toward the end of the reception, the bride and groom offered guests tasty mini-donuts served on a shot glass of milk.
How about donuts and a shot of milk?! Mmmmm

I think it's time to go make some cupcakes, yum yum!

Between Easter, working and having the stomach flu I've been bad about blogging! Here's the short version of the past few weeks. Chris and the kids came for Easter which was lots of fun. Sent Lydia home with a drum pad thing which I am sure they love us for! Then we went over to my grandparents and ate even more food, spent time with family and did a bit of shooting. After Easter I worked some more then Brad ever so lovingly passed along the stomach flu which had me out of commission for a few days. Now I am back in Morgantown with Grant and Emma! Here's some of my favorite photo's from home.

Naughty Girl

Emma has been super naughty the past few days. I think she is bored and is trying to get use to being back at the apartment instead of my parents house. I think she enjoyed having other animals around. I wish we could get another cat so she would have company however in our wee apartment it is just not practical.

Today she learned how to climb the screen door. So instead of being able to let the wonderful, finally warm, air in the door has to be shut. I've tried everything to keep her down, including soaking her with the squirt bottle every time she started to climb. Nothing really helped so the door is now shut. Humph.

Here's grumpy gills watching t.v.. Notice she is sitting up and giving me the, "Don't you dare take a picture" look. I think we both need something to do!

Spring is finally here and I hate not having anything to do outside. I cannot wait to someday move to a house/townhouse and have a yard! (Yes, remind me of this in 20 years when I'm complaining about keeping up with a lawn, flowers, garden, etc. haha) I have been trying to find a hobby that doesn't cost a lot of money however I am not having very much luck. I just cannot get use to sitting around and not working/going to school. I thought about looking for another job around here besides subbing but with 3ish weeks left until summer it's pretty much pointless. Back to the cave here soon! I must say, I LOVE MY JOB! I love the cave, I love my co-workers and I have a super manager. Finally after 7ish years I have the position I want and enjoy. What more could I want? If only I could move Luray and Morgantown closer together that would make everything SO much better. Oh yeah, I also need a teaching job... I am determined that I am not going to get stressed yet. There is still plenty of time and most places have not even started hiring. All in goodtime..

Toodles!

Home Again

As of Friday I'm back in Morgantown. It's great to be back where I can make all of the decisions Well not all, Grant makes some, but you know what I mean. Emma has had a hard time adjusting, I think she misses all of the animals at my parents house. Plus there she had lots of room to run around, back to the shack for her!

Overall it has been a fun weekend. Grants parents came to visit which is always fun. They came down for Grants scholarship awards ceremony. He got a scholarship and made Presidents List, meaning he has a 4.0! So proud! Afterwards we went out to dinner at one of our favorite restaurants, unfortunately my migraine that I had been trying to fight all day caught up with me. Stupid migraines, I average one a day however this one was one of the worst in a long time. Luckily it was pretty dull this morning and cleared up before the evening because we had his pharmacy school formal to go to,

The formal was fun. It was at the Waterfront Hotel, and you guessed it, it's on the waterfront! The food was pretty good and everyone had a great time dancing. Things like this really make the age difference stand out between us and the rest of his class. Grant is one of the few with a degree, putting him 2 years older than the rest. Two years doesn't sound like much, but it makes a huge difference in maturity. Yeah, I know, I sound old. Oh well, either way we had a great time. No pictures to show, I forgot my camera.

I miss Florida so much! Supposedly some warm weather is heading our way, I'll believe it when I see it!

Ta-ta for now!

More Vacation!

Here are a few more pictures from Anna Maria Island. We had such a wonderful time and can not wait to go back again someday. It is a wonderful island! It is very unique because they do not allow any chain restaurants. We had some amazing food, including Cubans. We went back twice it was so good! Here are a few pictures from our trip!

We had a picnic on the beach, it was so much fun. While it was too cloudy for a nice sunset we had a great time. We found so many sand dollars and seashells, I wish I had more pictures of them. We also saw dolphins as the sun was setting.

Henry chased off the "BRRR's" for us

Ok, this was probably the FUNNIEST part of our trip. Sarah and I took the kids to rent this bike thing. We had to go over a bridge that was barely big enough and had people walking across and played chicken with Segways. Ok, so it doesn't sound so funny written out; I promise that it was! I don't think I have ever laughed so hard!

We could not re-create this photo if we wanted to! The mirror looks like Sarah's eyes! Ha-Ha!

Our last night, sunset on the beach

I cannot even put into words how much fun I had. I enjoyed spending time with family that I do not get to see that much. I felt as if I was getting to know them all over again! A big thank you to my wonderful family that made this trip possible! I love each and every one of you so much!
